DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. – Panic erupted on one of DeKalb County’s busiest roads Friday afternoon after a barrage of gunfire left a local business riddled with bullet holes, sparking a massive police response that stunned bystanders.
The shooting unfolded just before 3 p.m. on Memorial Drive near Rockbridge Road, when witnesses say several shots rang out, sending people scrambling for cover. The building hit, a business called “Beauty Exposed,” was left with shattered glass and a front riddled with bullets.
📸 Channel 2’s Audrey Washington and her photographer just happened to be nearby working on another story when they saw a fleet of police cruisers racing to the scene. They followed the flashing lights—only to find Memorial Drive swarmed with officers.
“Boom, boom, boom, boom…” Witness Recounts Terrifying Moments
Witness George Eyni told reporters he heard six rapid shots before spotting a man bolting from the area.
> “Like six shots. Boom, boom, boom, boom. And he tried to speed along,” Eyni recalled.
He added that police immediately tried to chase down the suspect, but he managed to get away.

Within minutes, dozens of officers swarmed the street, sealing off the area with crime scene tape. NewsChopper 2 later captured aerial images of the building’s front door smashed and riddled with bullets.
